Hi, I’m Krystal Washington,

The heart and soul behind Epitome Birthing Services! From a young age, I’ve always had a deep love for babies and a passion for helping others. This lifelong connection to nurturing and supporting people naturally led me to my work as a doula.

With a background rooted in social and behavioral sciences, childbirth, and pregnancy, I bring a holistic and compassionate approach to every family I serve. My experience in social work and mental health has shaped my commitment to providing tailored care and making a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families during their most transformative moments.

Mission:

My mission, as a Full Spectrum Doula is to promote advocacy in birthing spaces, inspire creativity during and after pregnancy, and center education in the community. I am committed to connecting underserved populations with the reproductive resources they need to experience the birth they desire.

Vision:

My vision is to empower individuals and families to embark on a journey of self-awareness and self-acceptance during and after their pregnancy experience. I aim to emphasize the importance of physical, emotional, and mental well being to encourage self-care and encourage others to become the EpitoME of self-love.

Statement:

Understanding the standards and norms of the current health care system and knowing the reality of all the options that are available is crucial to not only creating the birth and parenthood you desire but also one that is rooted in well-being, self-care, growth and autonomy.

Inspiration

A few years ago, I embarked on a self-love journey. I aimed for genuine confidence, leading to personal growth. I lost some friends, shifted relationships, and improved self-esteem. I committed to being the “Epitome of self-love,” encompassing spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical aspects. When I became a doula, I realized self-care is not only vital for a healthy pregnancy but also for a healthy parenthood. It benefits both you and the baby.

It’s about nourishing yourself in every way. Your well-being directly impacts your baby’s well-being. Prioritizing self-care during pregnancy is the ultimate act of self-love, regardless of the birth outcome.
